DOWN

When you put on a United Colors of Benetton puffer jacket, you are helping protect and improve the living conditions of the geese and ducks whose feathers are used in the production process.

In fact, in May 2017, we obtained the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certification, a protocol that guarantees that feathers and duvets used in our collections come from geese and ducks that were raised for food, in compliance with the principles of animal welfare.

RDS independently verifies, through the evaluation of neutral and specialized organizations, all the aspects concerning the breeding and care of animals, including the traceability of feathers and duvets from the origin to the final product.

In addition, part of the duck and goose feathers in our United Colors of Benetton collections are regenerated. After being recovered from different products - for example a padded jacket, a pillow, a duvet cover, etc. - they are washed, sterilized, selected and mixed to get the right compromise between lightness and the ability to retain heat. This process is rigorously controlled and certified and can be repeated indefinitely, fueling the virtuous cycle of recovery and reuse.
